My Approach For Capturing Your Wedding Day:

Wondering how the day will go in regard to photos? Wondering what you need to do? Not much, really. For most of the day I really just try to be a fly on the wall, looking for those little moments that I believe should be captured. Usually I start with capturing the details… your dress, your suit, shoes, jewellery, flowers and stationary items. Then move on to you candidly enjoying time with your wedding party & family as you get ready for the days events; Popping some bubbly or cheersing some beers, dancing around in your robes, the tying of the dress etc.

What happens next depends on whether you want to do a first look or keep it traditional with you seeing each other for the first time as you walk down the aisle. If you scheduled for a first look, we will find the perfect spot for it to go down. Then usually follow it up with family & wedding party portraits. This can be a huge time saver for after your ceremony so you can enjoy more time with your guests during the cocktail hour. Depending on the size of your party & family, these photos usually just take about 20-30 minutes each.

The ceremony. Alright, it’s go time. Again, I am just a fly on the wall capturing all the emotional moments as they unfold. You walking down the aisle, your partner tearing up, your family & everyone attending admiring the love between you both, your nephew making funny faces at the camera… Same goes for cocktail hour; I will be just wandering around looking for candid moments. This is also a great time to get some group shots of you & your guests together.

After dinner, it is always great to plan 10-15 minutes for us to quickly step away from the party to grab a few more photos of you both at sunset. This is also a great time for you both just to take a moment to take everything in, all the work you have done to get you to this point. Just be in the moment. And finally, the dance floor. Capturing that beautiful first dance between you two, family dances, & then the DJ welcoming everyone to the centre of the room. I will dance along with you getting some fun photos & then that is a wrap for me! I will wish you both a great rest of your night & I will head home to back up all of your photos from the day.
