Best of 2019!
Words cannot describe the ups and downs I have had throughout my first season of full time wedding photography. Quick story! It was October 2018 and I had just quit my job that day before heading up to Muskoka with my wife Katie to photograph a wedding. I was exhausted from working two jobs and commuting over an hour, I was at my wits’ end. At the same time, Katie was finishing up the plans on opening up her own dance studio. To make it official, we anchored in some grand opening flags and signs on the studio property on our way out of town to Muskoka. We spent two wonderful days at the lodge documenting the wedding, it was perfect. Little did we know that just a few days after arriving home we would find out that we were expecting our first child! We were overjoyed! “But wait… should I call my boss back?” I said half jokingly…I only had one more wedding of 2018 and just left a somewhat comfortable day job. Fast forward to now as I am about to deliver my last gallery of 2019, I have goosebumps thinking about how challenging but also how absolutely amazing my first year has been. All the wonderful couples and their families that I met, all the stories I got to hear all while starting to write my own with my family. I have a 8 month old daughter now, and I look forward to all the laughs and tears that we will share on her own wedding day. Thank you to everyone I have crossed paths with this season! Man…wedding photography is the best job in the world.
Now, play some tunes and check out a few of my favourite moments of 2019!
